New Low-Cost Home Energy Upgrade Loan Scheme

You can now apply for Government-backed, low-cost loans to upgrade the energy performance of your home. Investing in energy efficiency will make your home warmer, healthier and cheaper to run, while reducing your carbon footprint.

The purpose of the loan must be to carry out home energy upgrade works that are also grant-aided through the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). However, there is the flexibility to spend up to 25% of the loan on non-energy related works (e.g. redecorating)

You can borrow from €5,000 to €75,000 for a term of up to 10 years. Loans are available through participating finance providers, including banks and some credit unions. The interest rates will be significantly lower than those generally available in the market but will differ among the finance providers.

The Green Clubs Programme

If you are a member of a GAA, LGFA or Camogie club and are interested in turning it green (just to clarify we're talking sustainability not club colours!) then the Green Clubs Programme might be of interest to you.

The Green Club Programme was established to support Gaelic Games clubs in taking simple and effective sustainability action in their grounds and activities. The programme is structured around the themes of Energy, Water, Waste, Biodiversity and Travel & Transport and is designed to promote sustainability awareness and action in GAA clubs and communities.

This programme, a partnership between the GAA, LGFA and Camogie Association and local authorities across Ireland, and the Green Club Toolkit, have been developed with the expert input of organisations and agencies from across the island of Ireland.

The toolkit is freely available to all GAA, Camogie and LGFA Clubs and is designed to support club members and volunteers in taking simple action across the five thematic areas listed above.
