May 2025 Newsletter (Special Edition)

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather.

We welcome you to this Special Edition of our monthly newsletter featuring details of  Climate Action & Biodiversity Fortnight which runs from Monday, 12th May to Sunday, 25th May, 2025. This initiative also incorporates events from Wexford Bike Week 2025

Now in its second year, the initiative consists of a broad range of events including a Coastal Walk along the beautiful trail leading from Arthurstown to Duncannon followed by an Underwater Biodiversity Photography Display; a Biodiversity Farm Walk kindly hosted by the Poole Family, Gorey; and a Biodiversity & Geology Family Cycle at Hook Head. Further details available below.

We would like to acknowledge the support of the Office of Public Works, National Parks & Wildlife Services, the Heritage Council, National Biodiversity Week, National Bike Week, South East Energy Agency, Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO), Tomhaggard Clean Coasts Group and all who assisted in any way, big or small, in helping to make this initiative happen.

Climate Action & Biodiversity Fortnight banner

Wexford County Council’s Climate Action & Biodiversity Fortnight 2025 is about raising awareness on actions and measures we can all do at a personal and local level and to showcase some of the projects and initiatives underway across our County.

The fortnight serves as a platform to inspire action and drive positive change at local level. Attendance to the Climate Action & Biodiversity Fortnight events is free, with booking required for some events.
