Webinar session for CoRe-ACTS project

The Spatial Dynamics Lab at UCD invites you to its online webinar session for the CoRe-ACTS project, part of the ScienceUs funding programme, focused on Smart Pebbles and Citizen science for coastal erosion and beach resilience.

CoRe-ACTS uses innovative, low-cost “smart pebbles” with embedded RFID tags to track sediment movement and better understand how beaches change over time. The project so far has focused on Killiney Beach in Dublin, and UCD are now keen to engage and connect with other communities, councils, NGOs, and researchers who may be interested in testing or adopting this approach on their own pebble beaches.

During the webinar, it will share:

  • How the smart pebbles work
  • What equipment is needed
  • How communities can get involved
  • The insights and outcomes the project can deliver
